Avalara Aligns with AGN Accounting Firm Network

Sales tax and compliance automation service Avalara has formed a strategic alliance with AGN International-North America Inc. which will enable firms to access sales and use tax (SUT) and value added tax (VAT) information and related resources.

In addition, AGN-NA members will be able to take advantage of Avalara partnering programs specifically designed to help accounting firms expand their services.

AGN-NA is a network 45 accounting firms located in North America and is part of AGN International, which in total is comprised of 195 member firms, operating from 460 offices, in 88 countries around the world.

“This special-purpose website contains a wealth of important information related to Sales and Use Tax, including updated information on pending legislation, a forms library, rates tables, and links to business-critical sales and use tax information,” said AGN-NA executive director Rita Hood. “We are very pleased to be working with the sales tax professionals at Avalara.”

This alliance is not dissimilar from one Avalara formed in April with BKR International, a global alliance of 150 accounting and consulting firms from 70 countries.

Avalara claims to currently support nearly 100 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim, calculating VAT, sales and use taxes on over a billion transactions annually.

“AGN is a major player in the international accounting associations community and we are very pleased to begin this exciting new partnership with them and their member firms,” said Ray Bigley, vice president of business development for Avalara’s Accounting and Advisory Services Program. “Our new alliance gives AGN firms instant access to the most up-to-date SUT and VAT tax tools and educational resources available anywhere – giving them greater ability to assist their clients and enhance their status as trusted advisors.”
