Avalara Expands Accountant Advisory Program With Ron Eagle Hire

Cloud-based sales tax automation service provider Avalara has hired former Information Technology Alliance(ITA) president Ron Eagle as strategic advisor within the company's Accounting & Advisory Services program.

At Avalara, Eagle will focus on strategic efforts for the Accounting & Advisory Services Program, working with accounting professionals and the SMB-focused technology community, while also assisting Avalara in its global expansion with the international offices of accounting firms in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Eagle has spent the past 15 years leading the ITA, an independent membership association of top accounting firm technology professionals, consultants, and product/service providers in North America. The announcement was made during the ITA Fall Collaborative in Scottsdale, as the organization celebrated its 15-year anniversary.

Eagle has served at Arthur Andersen, Cherry, Bekaert and Holland, George S. Olive, Centerprise/UHY Advisors, Clifton Gunderson, and a post on American Institute of CPA's IT Executive Committee.

"Ron brings a special dynamic to Avalara's accountant outreach efforts," said Avalara chief executive Scott McFarlane. "He's been a leader and a driving force at the intersection of the accounting and information technology professions. Today's announcement comes at an exciting phase in Avalara's development, as sales tax automation seizes the spotlight, and CPA firms of all sizes begin to recognize the overarching opportunity to leverage the power and value of cloud computing to help their valued clients get and stay compliant. Ron is a key addition to our growing team, and we're truly pleased to engage with him at a time of expansion in all directions."
