Microsoft Eyeing BPO Program for Some Dynamics ERP

Microsoft confirmed it is trying to establish a BPO program for accounting firms behind cloud versions of its Dynamics NAV and GP ERP products.

While there is no formal program as of yet, Microsoft has members of the Dynamics team actively exploring opportunities for accounting firms to use GP, NAV and possibly other products on the Azure platform to better serve their small business clients, according to Dynamics general manager, partner sales Rich Wickham.

"From my persoective, there is an opportunity to drive signigicant business for Microsoft and our accounting partners in this model. When you think of the thousands of small businesses these firms have, they could now provide [BPO-type] services and it's sticky; that’s the real value proposition for an accounting firm," said Wickham. "We need to know where our sweet spot is for these products and we have to pick the right opportunities so we can build an interesting new business. It's a practice we definitely think we can build."Wickham declined to reveal further details other than they are speaking with accounting firms about BPO opportunities.
