Online accounting software maker Xero Inc. is part of a a pro-paperless office coalition led by online fax and electronic signature service HelloFax that has launched an effort to deliver free online front and back office tools to consumers and businesses.

Entitled Paperless 2013, the effort urges those interested in reducing the paper in their homes and offices to visit the effort’s website where they will receive an email with links to a set of Web services designed to reduce paperwork.

In addition to HelloFax, the coalition consists of Xero, Manilla, Google Drive, Expensify and Fujitsu ScanSnap.

“I hope many small business owners will join us in the Paperless 2013 pledge,” said Xero’s president of U.S. operations Jamie Sutherland. “Not only is it good for the environment, but the cloud saves time and money by streamlining and digitizing workflows, especially in the case of small business accounting.”
