Sage North America has confirmed that vice president of sales Drew Macbeth and senior VP of sales management and operations Kevin Rooker have resigned from their respective posts.
Both are still with the company, but will be departing shortly the executives confirmed.
Macbeth has been with Sage for 15 years, serving in numerous roles including his most recent post, which he has held since 2009. Rooker has been with Sage for nearly 17 years and has also worked for Ernst & Young, Epicor and Oracle.
In a statement, Sage’s executive VP and general manager of midmarket solutions Joe Langer acknowledged the respective resignations and wished Macbeth and Rooker well in their future endeavors.
“It is with mixed emotions that I announce the upcoming departures of Kevin Rooker and Drew Macbeth from our midmarket leadership team,” said Langner. “Although we are sad to see both Kevin and Drew leave us, we wish them great success with the career opportunities ahead of them.”
Langner, Macbeth, and Rooker each stated that the departures were more “coincidental” and not connected.
“As some of you have heard, my last day at Sage will be this Friday [January 17]. I’ve had 17 great years here and Sage has been very good to me,” said Rooker in a statement. “I have truly enjoyed working with so many wonderful partners over the years and value the relationships I have maintained. Drew Macbeth, just so happens to be leaving Sage at the same time as me — please know that this is purely coincidental, so don’t believe any salacious rumors out there.”
Rooker also said he is moving on to a company “that serves the healthcare industry” outside of the ERP space, where he will focus on sales operations.
Meanwhile, Macbeth noted that he will depart on February 10 and issued his own statement.
“Coming off a really strong year makes it that much more difficult to say goodbye, but the good news is that I’m leaving on a high note,” said Macbeth in a statement. “Sage has provided me with many great opportunities to grow my career over the past fourteen years and I’ve had the privilege to create some lifelong friendships with countless Sage employees and business partners. My plan is take a couple weeks off before departing Sage to explore the next chapter in my life.”
