Sage Enhances Payroll and Other Functions in 300 ERP 2012

Sage North America has released Product Update 1 for Sage 300 ERP 2012, including – among other improvements -- 20 new enhancements to the Payroll module designed to simplify payroll processing and improve payroll reporting and compliance.

Companies that use Sage 300 ERP Payroll for in-house processing can now provide their employees with access to Sage Source, a personalized connected service. Sage Source publishes information to the cloud, enabling employees to sign in, view, and print their payroll history.

The enhanced Payroll module also includes Sage Federal and State eFiling and Reporting, a connected service that provides free, up-to-date and automatically populated forms that can be printed and mailed or used to e-file.

“Integrated payroll processing is an important component of Sage 300 ERP. With the new cloud connected services, businesses can further reduce their cost of managing payroll by allowing employees to view pay history online,” said Erik Kaas, vice president of product management for Sage 300 ERP. “And with Sage eFiling, companies not only save time and money filing W-2s and 1099s, they can also go green by eliminating the need to print and mail forms.”

The Sage 300 ERP Product Update also boasts improvements in Sage 300 ERP Intelligence Reporting. A new Report Designer add-in allows users to design financial reports inside Microsoft Excel. The add-in provides drag-and-drop Excel financial formulas, which communicate with a new In-Memory processing engine for enhanced performance and flexibility.

Finally, improvements to the integration of Sage 300 ERP with Sage CRM include access to up-to-date inventory information directly from within Sage CRM as well as the availability of Sage CRM on iPhones.
