CCH Adds eSign to ProSystem fx Tax

CCH has updated its ProSystem fx Tax solution with new, integrated CCH eSign functionality in response to the Internal Revenue Service’s recent change to Form 8879, which allows for electronic signatures and authorizes electronic filing of tax returns.

“Because Form 8879 needed to be physically signed by the taxpayer on paper, that back-and-forth, last step for e-filing returns was a big hurdle to clear, especially in crunch time,” stated Angela Askew, CCH software product manager. “Our advanced CCH eSign solution supports new IRS requirements for Form 8879—and other forms allowing electronic signatures. The integration of Form 8879 with CCH eSign and CCH’s Electronic Filing Status System simplifies the process for our customers—saving valuable time.”

According to CCH, the software provider conducted extensive research while developing CCH eSign into improving communication and collaboration between accounting firms and clients. The processing system handles all types of federal and state returns with extensive electronic filing services.
