Intuit's Walker to Retire

Long-time Intuit PR head and global accountant engagement director Rich Walker has announced his retirement, beginning January 31, 2014.

Walker issued a letter to friends and colleagues today, stating his intent to depart the company and profession after serving 15 years at Intuit.

“I am proud of the work that our teams, throughout the years, have done together in building a strong foundation for growth among and through accountants and bookkeepers, worldwide,” stated Walker. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to have joined a world-class company…more importantly, I want to thank my colleagues and friends for their powerful insights and meaningful encouragement throughout the years.”

Walker also took note of his help to launch the QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Program globally, develop the Intuit Academy training for accountants and bookkeepers, founding the Intuit Accountant Advisory Council  and launching Intuit’s offices in Australia.

He also admitted that he is looking to remain involved in consulting and nonprofit work “where I can devote my time and energy toward a cause that helps change the world and inspires me personally.”
