International IT governance association ISACA has begun a new initiative to connect women in the technology industry.
As part of its new “Connecting Women Leaders in Technology” program, ISACA plans to include several programming and networking events for and about women at its upcoming cybersecurity conferences, CSX North America and CSX Europe. The Las Vegas conference will provide an interactive networking event. The London event will feature the same, as well as a talk by diversity strategist Hayley Barnard to encourage women to seek opportunities and challenges outside their comfort zones to achieve their professional and personal goals.
ISACA is also seeking women in technology to get more involved with the association as speakers, writers and volunteers. Those interested in those opportunities or in showcasing their personal success stories can visit
Next year ISACA will offer more educational opportunities, including a webinar series focused on women in technology.
The program was established by ISACA’s Women in Leadership Council, chaired by Jo Stewart-Rattray, director of information security and IT assurance for BRM Holdich, and comprised of woman tech executives from around the world.
“The empowerment of women within the global technology workforce is critical to sustaining, growing and advancing our profession,” said Stewart-Rattray. “Connecting women leaders in technology will engage female professionals in the key areas of education, awareness and advocacy.”
