McGladrey Selects Tallie as Expense Management Solution

SaaS expense reports provider Tallie announced an agreement with McGladrey to be an expense management provider for the assurance, tax and consulting firm.

With this relationship, Top 5 firm McGladrey will recommend Tallie to clients of the firm’s Finance and Accounting Outsourcing and Technology and Management Consulting practices.

“The solution is flexible, scalable, and cost effective for what we’re trying to do,” said James Cashin, partner at McGladrey. “So we’re really excited about the formal nature of our agreement with them.”

McGladrey’s management consulting practice is especially focused on assessing clients’ current technology processes to improve their efficiency and overall cost-effectiveness.

“Within that assessment we perform through management consulting, we’ve seen over the last year an increase in automating accounts payable and time and expense management,” said Cashin. “From my perspective Tallie is an outstanding program and it’s been a pleasure to work with them the last couple of years. I look forward to this agreement.”

The agreement continues Tallie’s “very good penetration rate” with the Top 200 accounting firms, according to Tallie CEO Chris Farrell, coming on the heels of other relationships like the most recent with Moss Adams, now providing Tallie as its primary expense management solution.

While this adoption follows the trend of automating financial processes, Tallie’s model of providing both technology and service was also appealing to McGladrey.

“From a contracts-specific standpoint [the agreement] is not unique in terms of vendor-to-vendor or professional services-to-software vendors,” Cashin said. “What is unique is the other ancillary services, the customer service that comes with Tallie. They’re very passionate about the product. We’ve worked with them for what the client needs to look like, and they’ve been receptive in enhancing the product.”

Tallie is also attuned to the firm’s desired workflow and how the solution can best fit. Tallie assists with the solution’s implementation, administrative support, end user support and training, and ongoing support to ensure a successful deployment leading to “frictionless technology,” said Farrell.

“The end-to-end solution is now appealing to professionals and industry experts,” Farrell shared. “It’s the culmination of a lot of collaboration and technology work we put together in concert with industry professionals. The focus has been on firms and accountants rather than consumers—the focus of our company is accountants. Accountants are now getting the solution set that meets the needs of internal constituents and clients. And it does it with an immediate ROI.”
