The Corporate Software Group, formerly RIA Compliance, which markets Fast-Tax, InSource, and sales and use software, is headed by Brian Peccarelli. Mark Schlegeter manages the newly named Research & Information Group, that includes RIA's CheckPoint. CSI president Jon Baron, oversees the GoSystem and CSI lines, as part of the Professional Software Group. CSI vice president Jack LaRue has been promoted to senior vice president.
ALL MILLER LIBRARIES ON ARM
CCH Tax and Accounting is now offering all of the Miller auditing and accounting libraries on its Accounting Research Manager.
CCH has added the Miller Governmental Library and Miller Not-for Profit Library to ARM, completing its online offering of the Miller Libraries. The company previously offered the Miller GAAP Library, Miller GAAS Library, Miller Engagement Library, and Miller Government and Not-For Profit Library.
COMPUPAY ABSORBS PAYMAXX
Compupay, a payroll company that acquired PayMaxx of Nashville, Tenn., has updated its Web site to reflect its absorption of the acquired company.
The redesign is also part of a rebranding that includes a new logo and a new tag line, "Innovation Pays." Compupay offers the CPA Select Program that enables accounting professionals to market co-branded payroll services.
GRASS LEAVES INTUIT
Karl Grass, vice president of professional tax for Intuit, has left the company after two-and-a-half years.
Grass, who joined Intuit in March 2003, and his family decided to return to Florida, according to a spokesperson.
ADP GIVES AWAY TAX GUIDE
ADP Small Business Services is offering soft-bound copies of the 2006 edition of the CCH U.S. Master Tax Guide for free, along with a variety of other services from CCH.
Those who visit the ADP accountant Web site at www.accountant.adp.com get access to an online tax research library and CCH's weekly State Tax Review online newsletter. They can also receive discounts of CPE fees for the guide's supplement, "Top Tax Issues for 2006 CPE course," a free CCH Learning Center course for credit, and 10 percent off a year's subscription to the CCH Learning Center.
Wolters Kluwer is continuing on a new branding campaign by changing the name of CCH Tax and Accounting to CCH, a Wolters Kluwer company.
Nancy McKinstry, CEO of Wolters Kluwer, noted that the company's new logo, "represents content in context." At CCH's recent user conference, president Kevin Robert says that CCH is developing a knowledge management system to help store knowledge so that it is not lost when firm members leave.
ADVENT NET REBOUNDS
The bottom line for Advent Software rebounded in the third quarter ended September 30 on a 15.2 percent increase in revenue.
Net income of $6.2 million was a turnaround from a loss of $5.1 million a year earlier. Revenue for the most recently ended quarter was $43 million, up from $37.3 million in the same quarter last year.
MORNINGSTAR ADDS DC PLANS
Morningstar has added a Defined Contribution Plan module to its Principia software system to help advisors evaluate company plans.
The module will help advisors assemble a recommended list of investment selections that represent a variety of styles and will help them build 401(k) and 403(b) plans by highlighting characteristics of mutual funds offered through a given plan.
FOREFIELD LAUNCHES EMAIL NEWSLETTER
Forefield has launched an email newsletter service as part of the Forefield Newsletter product line.
Forefield, based in Marlboro, Mass., says email capability creates native HTML newsletters that can be customized by selecting from a menu of available articles.
