MAS 90/200 ERP 4.1 Sage MAS 90/200 ERP 4.1 integrates sales order and job costing to give users greater flexibility in allocating and invoicing for goods and services. Besides tracking and transferring sales order revenues and costs to specific jobs, the application also provides additional invoicing methods such as retainer and cost-plus invoicing.

The system's new Dual Grid interface is designed to improve data-entry throughput in sales order and can be personalized by each user. Views can be customized by setting user-specific defaults for each field. Shipping data-entry lines can be sorted to match the sort order of picking sheets, enabling shipping clerks to match, pick, and ship items.

StorageWorks Data Protector Express supports tape, disk, and CD/DVD back-up media for use in disaster recovery at small and midsized businesses.

Providing common functionality and common tools across Windows, NetWare, and Linux, the system has the same pricing across all operating systems and can recover data in parallel. There is no per-processor or back-up capacity licensing.

Creative Solutions Engagement CS now supports instant networking software, the Colligio Workgroup Edition, which enables notebooks and PDAs to create direct-connected ad hoc networks.

BQE Resource Allocator 2006

Resource Allocator 2006, a project management application, manages multiple projects and their resources, rather than focusing on project-specific management capabilities.

Project managers can assign resources for various tasks across geographies or to teams for their review. It also reads data from BillQuick, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Outlook to help assess a project's completion based upon a specified start date. The previous version, Resource Allocator 1.0, was available as an add-on with Bill Quick 2004. The 2006 version is sold separately.

QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6.0

Built on Sybase's database, iAnywhere, QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions 6.0 supports as many as 15 concurrent users and is five times faster performing tasks than it was with the previous database.

The enhanced inventory capability automates key tasks required by manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers. A sales order fulfillment feature gives users a single view of all pending orders. The available-to-promise feature reports if inventory on hand is committed and where, when it is needed, and what is on order. Inventory can be tagged for later delivery on less critical orders.

QES also offers access to the database through Open Database Connectivity.

Sage PFW ERP 5.4 merges the modules of Platinum for Windows by Sage and BatchMaster PFW.

Version PFW 5.4, suited for companies with up to $150 million in revenue, gives businesses access to reporting through the Business Insights Professional, which consolidates key business information. The Sales Analysis KPI has been added to provide views on past sales. There is also a new daily order summary for process manufacturers. The Context Launcher has been enhanced to provide quicker access to customer/vendor profile information. Support for manufacturing and distribution includes formula approval and enhanced multi-currency pricing.

Customer Appointment Manager

Customer Appointment Manager 2.0, an electronic appointment book, schedules and manages customer appointments, whether they are one-time or repeat appointments.

The system has definable fields on the customer and appointment form.

The reports and appointment calendar can be exported or printed in formats including Word, Excel, HTML, or PDF. There is an email appointment reminder feature, along with three new reports regarding scheduling trends and customer history. The application can be customized to provide the status of completed tax forms for an accounting firm.

TaxAct 1120

The TaxAct Preparer's 1120 Edition can print an unlimited number of paper returns for free, while providing multiple-preparer support.

The 1120 offers a preparer summary and instruction letters, an invoicing utility to set up pricing by form, and analysis reports. Also available are label printing and management reports for monitoring client fees, billing, and types of returns prepared. Icons across the top of the interface are used to move between key functions. Browser-like forward and back buttons permit users to skip ahead or move back through a return.

CCH Write-Up 2.5

Release 2.5 of CCH ProSystem fx Write-Up adds more capabilities for processing vendor checks, including the ability to select the payee and day for the check, as well as entering a memo that will be printed on the check face.

Distributions can be selected and will print on the distributions portion of the check. Checks can be printed immediately or added to an in-process state. Filter and sorting features enable users to view in-process checks by specific check dates, payee, or amount. Checks can be previewed while the Process Checks Grid can view the dollar amount and number of checks selected. Checks can be edited or removed.

ObjAcct Online

ObjAcct Online, an XML-based hosted accounting system, is designed on a high-volume ASP model, combined with a library of more than 1,000 XML Web Services.

Online also offers advanced customization tools, an SDK for Visual Studio .Net, and a built-in report writer that provides a WYSIWYG report layout and development environment, allowing reports to be created and customized by end users. More than 200 reports are included, as well as an embedded macro language, drill-down capabilities, and chart generation.

MasterBuilder 11

MasterBuilder 11 introduces Master Builder Administration, a secure, central command center, for managing the program and the number of concurrent users.

Using this center, business owners can view which users are logged into the system, as well as the date, time, and duration of each session. Also new is a Document Control Module to manage requests for information, transmittals and submittals, plan records, and punch lets. It can also create and track responses to project documents. The Copy Company Function can create a new company database with an existing accounting set-up, vendor, and job information, but without the financial transactions.

WebDocs CPA

WebDocs CPA, a Web-hosted CPA-specific version of the WebDocs document management and image software, has been designed with the help of accounting firm Mize Houser to fit CPA practices.

The new version scans and electronically manages tax and audit documents, production reports, existing files, and faxes. The system features full-text document indexing, revision tracking, and enterprise security. There is also built-in document routing. WebDocs CPA also integrates with business applications, including tax and audit engagements, billing, accounting, and practice management applications.

The byte-level file transfers in BeInSync Pro 1.6, a remote access package, ensures that only the changes made to a file are transferred. The system also provides faster file synchronization for sharing files across PCs.

The version has automatic and manual synchronization modes. Each share folder can be configured to be synchronized automatically or manually by the user. Web-account management enables users to view and access all computers and manage account information.
