Earnings for Irvine, Calif.-based Epicor jumped sharply to $25.3 million for fiscal 2004, from $9.3 million the prior year, while sales likewise soared, as the results reflected last year's acquisition of Scala Business Solutions.

Revenue rose to $226.2 million from $155.4 million in 2003, as its acquisition of Scala kicked in. License fees rose to $61.9 million from $38.7 million, moving to 27.4 percent of revenue for the most recently completed year, from 24.8 percent.
