BLYTHECO GOES NATIONAL Blytheco, one of Best Software's largest resellers, has opened offices in several states, marking its first expansion outside of California.

The Laguna Hills, Calif.-based company expanded into Arizona, Florida, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Washington, D.C.

The Information Technology Alliance, a networking group that includes technology resellers and CPA consultants, has established a program to gather operational data from its members.

The association has hired iLumen, an Atlanta-based vendor, to provide the Web-based technology to gather financial and non-financial operational data. "The members are able to upload data each month after they close," says ITA president Ron Eagle.

NET@WORK HIRES SALES DIRECTOR

Net@Work, a New York City software reseller, has hired Pat Leccese as its director of sales for its business applications.

Leccese, most recently vice president of sales for NalPro Business Solutions, is responsible for building the group and managing major accounts.

OFFICETOOLS CHANNEL STARTED

North 40 Systems, which makes the Office Tools Pro practice management package, has kicked off a reseller program for CPAs and other financial professionals.

The reseller program offers 40 percent margins, along with free support and training for dealers and their customers. The company waives the annual fee during the first year.

AVANADE BUYS ENTEGRATE

Avanade, a company funded by Accenture and Microsoft, has acquired Entegrate, a Rolling Meadows, Ill.-based reseller that has been one of the top Axapta resellers in the United States. Terms were not disclosed.

Avanade, which employs about 3,000 people, also markets the SAP on Microsoft and Siebel on Microsoft lines.

FINE OPENS BUSINESS

Dan Fine, who sold his In2Gr8 reselling operation to EYT, two years ago, has launched a reselling company named Fine Business Solutions in Edmond, Wash.

The company, which began operation in January, has a staff of three selling Axapta and Great Plains to high technology clients on the West Coast.

COLUMBUS IT GAINS

Columbus IT Partner, a reselling firm based in Denmark, saw earnings jump to $4.4 million for 2004, up sharply from $1.9 million for 2003, as revenue rose by 7 percent.

The company's revenue hit $102.4 million last year, up from $95.7 million. This year, Columbus IT hired a new CEO, Vladislav Martynov, who began work in February.

IDEAL PROMOTES MILAN

Chris Milan, previously vice president of sales and marketing at Ideal Consulting, has been named chief operating officer of the Tampa, Fla.-based reselling operation.

Milan, who joined the company in 2002, is now responsible for all day-to-day operations. Ideal sells MAS 90, Great Plains, and Solomon accounting software. It had sales of $5.7 million for 2004.

PEACHTREE SDK RELEASED

Peachtree is releasing a software development kit for ISVs that want to write specialized packages that working with Peachtree Complete, Premium and its vertically specialized Peachtree applications.

Seven developers have already written programs that include retail, manufacturing, distribution, and construction software, says Daneen Heislitz, Peachtree's director of product marketing.
