CLIFTON NAMES CIO Clifton Gunderson has named Barry Robinson as chief information officer of the Peoria, Ill.-based accounting firm to succeed Jeff Hapeman, who left the position earlier this year.

Robinson will be responsible for Clifton Gunderson's technology infrastructure and practice management systems nationally. He was previously CIO at Trizec Properties and prior to that he was with Baker & McKenzie, a major law firm based in Chicago.
DELTEK GROWS CPA CHANNEL
Deltek's CPA Network has grown from three to 15 members in the last two months as the project management software specialist works to use accounting firms to provide services for its products.
Some of the CPA firms are also in the Deltek consulting program. The newcomers are Perna & Scott; Goodman & Company; Rubino & McGeehin; Peter Witts, CPA; Argy, Witse & Robinson; Mensch & Associates; Lannigan, Ryan, Malcolm & Doyle; Jameson & Co.; Hoyman, Dobson & Co.; Kreischer Miller; Beers & Cutler; and Beason & Nalley.
BTP TOPS SYSPRO CHANNEL
Business Technology Partners, a Northbrook, Ill.-based reseller, was named "Reseller of the Year" at the recent Syspro reseller conference.
The company, which employs 21, is owned by principal Todd Perlman. BTP says revenue has grown at 25 percent a year in each of the last three years. The company also handles Microsoft Dynamics SL and CRM, Epicor Vantage and Sage Abra and FAS.
MCGLADREY MERGES CONSULTING PRACTICES
RSM McGladrey has formed a new organization, the Specialty Consulting Services Group, that combines four national consulting service lines.
Jeff Johnson, who has 25 years of business consulting experience, was named managing director of the group, which incorporates the regulatory insurance consulting practice, transaction support services, technology risk management services and CFP advisory services. The unit will be headquartered in Minneapolis.
SSAN LOCATOR STARTED
Sage Software has announced a program to help users locate members of the Sage Software Accountants Network.
The tool will be established on different Sage Software Web sites and be viewed at http://sagesoft warepremieradvisors.com/users. Searches can be performed by Zip Code and a selected mile radius. Searches are also possible by city and by the products supported by the SSAN member.
COLLINS NAMES SALES DIRECTOR
Collins Computing, a Mission Viejo, Calif.-based reseller that is a member of Microsoft's Inner Circle, has named Donna Armstrong as director of sales.
Armstrong was previously area general manager of Microsoft's solutions and partner group in Southern California and has spent more than 27 years in software sales, business development and management experience. Collins employed 55 and had an estimated $10 million in revenue when it was listed as No. 29 on the Accounting Technology VAR 100 list in April.
AXIS BUYS CPA UNIT
Axis Integrated Solutions, a software reseller, has acquired Technology Solution Group, a Knoxville, Tenn.-based technology unit of CPA firm Coulter & Justus. The unit is a Sage software VAR.
The TSG staff will join Chicago-based Axis and will bring along more than 125 clients. Troy Turrentine, the unit's director, will manage the new Axis office in Knoxville.
AUTOMATED CHANGES NAME
Solutions, a Sage Software reseller, has changed its name and moved into a new office.
The company has changed its named to Automated Business Solutions with an office in Mendota Heights, Minn. ABS also has offices in Iowa, Nebraska and California. The company had $4.7 million in revenue for the year ended Dec. 31, 2006.
DIXON NAMES MURRAY PRINCIPAL
Dixon Hughes has named Rodney Murray, who heads IT Advisory Services for the High Point, S.C.-based accounting firm, a principal in its Central North Carolina practice unit.
Murray is responsible for managing IT risk and advisory engagements and supports SAS 94 services in connection with financial statement audits.
