PLANTE MORAN BUYS TECH FIRM Plante Moran, the Southfield, Mich.-based accounting firm, has acquired Innovate Technology Consulting, which designs and manages technology projects for educational entities, libraries, and municipalities.

ITC, which has become part of Plante Moran's Technology Consulting & Solutions group, is experienced in designing of voice, data, and video systems that it expects will be valuable in services provided to public sector clients.
OVERTOOM MAKES PARTNER
Ryan Overtoom, a technology manager with the Sikich Technology Division, has been admitted as partner and given responsibility for client infrastructure needs in the firm's Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Springfield, Ill., offices.
Overtoom has been in charge of the Indianapolis office since it opened in 2005. He was with the technology division, formerly ICS Advantage, for nine years. He is a Certified Microsoft Systems Engineer and holds certifications in Citrix, Cisco, and SonicWall products.
TECTURA STARTS ALLIANCE
Tectura, a Dynamics reseller that operates internationally, has launched the Tectura Strategic Alliance Program, which has enlisted 13 members based in several countries in Europe, Mexico, and South Africa.
These companies will distribute specialized applications in the Dynamics NAV and AX market. Many of these also have their own specialized packages.
PREZ EXITS COLUMBUS IT
Vladislav Martynov, who had served as president of Columbus IT Partner, has left the Danish Dynamics reseller with the company declaring he had accomplished his goals after two years on the job.
Martynov joined the Copenhagen-based company to complete a corporate reorganization, along with implementing financial improvements. Martynov turned his responsibilities over to the company's founder and CEO Michael Gaardboe.
RESELLER GETS NEW PRESIDENT
Lou DePasquale, one of the founders of The Michael Allen Group, is turning over the presidency to Michael Allen DePasquale, after who the Sage Software reseller is named.
The DePasquale cousins founded the company three years ago. Lou DePasquale is leaving to join a company called InExpo, as vice president of sales.
PARADIGM HIRES MANAGER
Paradigm Technology Consulting, a reseller based in East Windsor, N.J., has hired Robert Hopwood as program manager for transportation.
Paradigm is the sole distributor of Charter Booking Systems, the Vehicle Maintenance System, and Tour Booking System, which is produced by Distinctive Systems. Hopwood, who has more than 25 years of experience in motorcoach and tour-based organizations, was most recently the regional director of a large charter company.
CROWE NAMES MVPS
Three Crowe Chizek employees have been named as Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals for their contributions in using Microsoft technologies.
Chosen were Jeff Juday of the South Bend, Ind., office for implementation of BizTalkServer.Mark Strawmyer of the Indianapolis office was honored for excellence in .Net applications, while Bret Updegraff, also of Indianapolis, was selected for his work with SQL Server applications. It was the second year that Updegraff and Juday were selected.
EPARTNERS PICKS DIRECTOR
William Bercik, who formerly worked with McKesson Provider Technologies, has been chosen as director of healthcare solutions for the Seattle-based Dynamics reseller.
Bercik is responsible for the healthcare practice, including ePartnersMD, a suite of Microsoft-based technologies. He spent 12 years as McKesson, where he had several roles in management, sales, support, and consulting, and was most recently manager of the sales solutions consultant group.
DELTEK TARGETS SMBS
Deltek, which makes enterprise-level software for project-focused companies, has established a channel program to reach small and midsize businesses.
The Herndon, Va.-based company has started the Deltek Partner Program, which enlists software resellers and accounting firms. It is trying to reach this market with Deltek Vision Small Business, which is based on the Wind2Software package that it acquired in October 2005.
