CASEWARE TIME CaseWare Time 2006 integrates with Working Papers 2006 Engagement Properties (formerly called the Client Profile) with two new fields, Client and Project, added to integrate a Time Project to the engagement file.

Meanwhile, the Document Manager now supports Outlook message items, including email messages, calendar items, contacts, and notes, which can be moved, copied, or linked on the Document Manager. New properties have been added to the batch set, including subject line, message, and a signature, which can be default or custom.

Reporting capabilities have been expanded in SurePayroll 2007 to include year-to-date detail, employee personnel, check register, deductions, new hires, and workers' compensation.

The system can now also export reports in formats that include Adobe PDR, Excel, rich text, and print-friendly. The system now also offers SureAdvisor, which allows accountants and clients to download and print compliance posters for any state. And SurePayroll has decreased the number of steps to three, while adding online help that draws upon the knowledge of payroll experts.

The Document Imaging module in the Forefront Construction Suite can locate individual documents in the Forefront file system by entering any word or group of words.

The application then finds those words and lists each document that contains them, displays them by relevance, and provides a link for opening each. Search options include simple searches, along with advanced search options, such as searches by exact phrases. The document imaging software is integrated with events and transactions throughout Forefront, integration that extends to master files such as jobs, employees, vendors, and customers.

Sage TimeSheet-MAS 90 Edition integrates TimeSheet into both MAS 90 and MAS 200, can be used for internal or remote workgroups of any size, and supports an almost unlimited number of business processes, approval levels, project structures, and workflows.

The system automatically transfers information into MAS 90 and 200 modules, including Job Cost, Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. It also tracks time and expenses via the use of job and cost codes entered into the accounting software packages.

Passport Business Solutions Version 11.4 incorporates drill downs, an accounts payable check designer, and enhanced data integrity controls.

The system also offers a PDF generator and tax-reporting changes for 2006. PBS special forms that can be generated in PDF format include purchase orders, AR statements, along with accounts receivable and order entry batch processed invoices as individual documents, but will not function with checks and labels. PBS is based on the RealWorld Classic software.

Version 11 of CMS Professional Accounting accesses customized reports created within the R&R Report Writer from the report menus inside Cougar Mountain and via the new Custom Options drop-down menu.

The Custom Options menu can also be set up to link to specific files or applications, such as a link that will open a window to show a calculator, an Excel file, or Word document. New features designed to improve register security include limiting discount percents, while default search features set criteria for lookups. A Purchase Order Alert lets users know if the cost or price of an inventory item has increased since the last time it was ordered.

The new Schedule module in Alere WorkShop 9.0 can review errors and warnings that occurred in the process of running the Trial Schedule, and also enables users to drill down to work orders to review and correct them.

The Costed Rollup function in the Cost module rolls up bills of materials via user-selected costing options, which then can be compared side-by-side with current costs. The user can switch between displaying standard and average costs. A drill-down function can provide a view into how numbers were computed for any Bill of Materials.

TimePlus Payroll has added an Employee Self-Service feature that will be included with all of the company's online services.

Employees can build data-driven reports to view information such as vacation and sick-day balances, taxes, garnishments, and reimbursement amounts. Pay stubs, W-2s, and 1099s can also be viewed and printed.

Adagio Receivables can now interface with Adagio JobCost at the phase and category level, as well as at the job level.

Description and Reference fields are now sent to JobCost for retrieval to the Billings and Payments batch. A function has been added to generate Recurring Charges for customers who get billed a fixed amount on a regular basis. A function has also been added to delete inactive customers, while Calculate Customer Aging functions calculate aging totals by due date.

CenterPoint Payroll can be used as a standalone system, and can produce a journal entry for use with an external GL system.

State and federal tax forms come standard, along with a fulfillment option that includes the printing and mailing of W-2s and 1099s to employees and vendors. Users can print and file forms of their choosing, and those that they can efile directly to the system. Direct Deposit is available. Users can set reminders when processes are due. Users have access to unlimited companies, databases, users, years of history, earning and deduction codes, and user-definable fields.

RIA's "Real Estate Cost Segregation: A Tax Practitioners Guide," written by expert Grant Keppel, provides theory and practical guidance to enable tax practitioners to identify projects that are good candidates for cost segregation.

Estate planning reports have been added to Golden Years, part of the Total Planning System, displaying side-by-side illustrations of multiple estate planning option combinations.

The software now also computes effects of future gifting to children; shows results of charitable planning; demonstrates uses of ILIT and/or CST planning; and calculates estate tax savings with net results to heirs.

Reports added include Estate Assumptions Summary, a retirement health savings report, investment return illustration, and explanations of Credit Shelter Trusts, Qualified Personal Residence Trusts, Grantor Retained Trusts, Family Limited Partnerships, and Wealth Replacement Trusts.

The database dictionary in ProSystem fx Scan version 2.5 automatically reads and recognizes an expanded list of government forms, organizer forms for ProSystem fx Tax and other vendors, and brokerage statements needed for preparing 1040 income tax returns.

Documents are then sorted, bookmarked, and output to a single PDF file. PDFlyer is an Adobe Acrobat plug-in that facilitates working with multiple PDF files in a dual-screen environment. Scan 2.5 also has an extended catalog that identifies and bookmarks more than 1,000 forms.
