Classes and sub-classes from QuickBooks are automatically available for departmental reporting in version 8.0 G of Softrak's Adagio FX software.

Users also can retrieve last year's data from Simply Accounting if the current data has been rolled forward. Accounts missing account numbers are alerted when retrieving information from QuickBooks. Dragging and dropping on a ColSpec row freezes the top rows of statements within the Financial Reporter and act as a statement header to print on every page.

An ExcelDirect button forces values in a financial statement to an Excel spreadsheet.

TurningPoint Version 5.0 expands the accounting system's reporting capabilities, improves sales order processes, simplifies the vendor check-writing process and adds additional security to check writing.

Version 5.0 offers the ability to combine customers and vendors in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Inventory. In-Process status for sales orders show which orders are filled but not yet posted.

Expanded Hold status excludes orders from the posting and auto-fill process. Serial numbers and inventory labels can be generated automatically. Bank Reconciliation sorting and General Ledger posting processes have been improved.

Version 5 of Nitro PDF Professional provides tools for commenting, text editing, form filling and authoring and digital signatures. It also includes advanced PDF-to-Word conversion in one click from Microsoft Office as well as a ribbon user interface, similar to that of Microsoft Office 2007.

Hyperlinks can automatically be created and freehand drawing tools help with documenting security permissions. Password-based PDF security lets users encrypt files.

Tax offices also can load the PDFs onto CDs for clients. These changes were made to address the needs of companies looking to reduce paper waste.

Link Maestro imports data from QuickBooks into Centage's Budget Maestro so companies can compare actual numbers against plan.

The integration tool transfers information from the 2005 to 2007 editions of QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise. Budget Maestro generates integrated financial statements, balance sheet and cash flow reports so QuickBooks users can measure the impact of their business decisions on their cash position in real time.

Besides measuring actual numbers, the system also can reforecast, and supports contingency and what-if-scenario planning as well as financial and management report generation.

Cabinet NG, a document management system and workflow application to integrate, is now available with Peachtree integration.

Users can open a range of documents and scan images directly from Peachtree by clicking on the CNG-SAFE icon, allowing them to enter vendor bills, customer payments and credit card statements in their original formats. Built-in workflow lets them share documents with others within their organization. It also contains enhanced content search, the ability to convert, scan and export to PDF and email alerts notifying employees of tasks they need to perform.

Dynamics Payables aims to help Accounts Payable departments gain efficiencies through its automated invoice recognition capabilities, workflow prioritization, process controls, audit tracking and real-time expense visualization.

It integrates with most business management applications but is designed for the Microsoft Dynamics Platform. The tool matches invoices to purchase orders for payment reconciliation, enables accurate coding, approval and transaction processing and stores electronic images of all invoices and supporting documents for direct retrieval through Dynamics.

Docudesk's deskUNPDF convert tool shows users how documents will look with their settings applied using its Accutext rendering engine.

It allows for slight adjustments so that the PDF content can be used for other purposes and includes features to specify how images, text and line art are converted. Accutext placement technology determines the best font, size and other parameter impacting appearances and allows files to be dragged onto the conversion icon or opened directly from Word from within deskUNPDF. PDFs can be saved as .doc or .text, rotated and prompted for passwords.
