PEACHTREE 2009 Sage Software’s Peachtree by Sage 2009 product line features an expanded Cash Manager Tool that enables small businesses anticipate cash needs. They also can run what-if scenarios to see the impact of certain activities on the businesses without running actual transactions and can customize cash-flow projections based on historical transactions or other activity.

Multiyear reporting extends beyond the two open years in Peachtree—to 2006 data for companies that upgrade in 2008. Peachtree Quantum now offers licenses for 15, 20 and 30 seats.

DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT FOR MANUFACTURERS

Deacom, which provides an accounting system for building component, specialty chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, extended its electronic document management system with the Deacom document linker.

Users can scan and import mass quantities of barcoded documents into the ERP system. Then this tool uses the barcodes to link documents such as delivery tickets and packing lists to their respective transactions within the system.

IMAGINETIME ELECTRONIC BILLING

ImagineTime has added electronic billing and paperless invoice billing to time and billing software products through alliances with Wells Fargo, ComData and GoToBilling.

Users can process payments made via credit cards and ACH inside the time and billing software, which can automatically schedule recurring payments and process payments by email when clients respond with a “Pay Now” signature button.

QUANTRIX BUSINESS MODELING

Version 3.0 of Quantrix Modeler improves collaboration and presentation of budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning models using the analytical software package.

A Presentation Canvas enables users to create interactive presentations and dashboards for decision-makers and clients. They can highlight elements of the models, such as profit and loss, income statement and balance sheet and include charts, images and annotations on a single interactive presentation view.

CHARITABLE FINANCIAL PLANNER 2008

Steve Leimberg’s Charitable Financial Planner 2008 compares charitable plans, performing calculations for pooled income funds, gift annuities, remainders in residences and farms, allows users to eyeball specific income tax advantages for clients if they implemented certain plans and contains warnings regarding IRS exhaustion. It also provides recommended payout rates, income tax tables through 2008.

DEVSUITE 7.0

TechExcel’s DevSuite 7.0 offers tools for project planning, issue tracking, quality assurance and regression testing and centralized knowledge management.

New is DevSpec, which provides a framework to create new requirements, specifications and features that can be linked to development and testing implementation projects. Companies can access a complete library of preconfigured application guides for software development methodologies including Scrum, Interactive Development, SpecDD and CMMI.

It provides missing information reminders, note fields, multiple address management, age calculation fields, features for managing relationships between contacts and the ability to record events. Act can also synchronize contact, calendar and to-do information with users’ Palm OS or Pocket PC devices.

CNG-BOOKS

Cabinet NG’s CNG-Books 6.0 document management software gives QuickBooks users the option of scanning in documents, importing them from any external file directory or opening documents already filed in the CNG-Safe system.

The software preloads account lists from QuickBooks during startup and provides integration with CNG-Safe security for applying access rights and retention polices from the CNG-Books entry screen.

AICPA CONTROLSDOC

ControlsDoc from the American Institute of CPAs captures controls-related documentation and helps companies and auditors evaluate the effectiveness of controls design. It uses the five components of the COSO Internal Controls framework to assess the value of internal controls.

ControlsDoc comes in three versions: Lite, Standard and Suite. Lite is the newest edition, providing tools directed to the simpler documentation needs of smaller businesses but containing some of the same features as the other versions.

ECOPY CONNECTOR FOR SIMPLECAPTUREPRO

Ecopy Connector enables users to send documents directly through Artsyl’s SimpleCapture Pro application, which automatically extracts data from financial documents such as invoices and purchase orders, when they scan hard copies into a multi-function printer.

A user selects the correct profile, returns to his or her desktop and can find the information already in the backend system. Additional metadata such as user, server name, date and time can be extracted during export.

SpringCM Accounts Payable Solution consolidates invoices and related documents in a single repository. These are converted into digital images with text capture. Companies can set automated escalation procedures based on vendor, invoice amount or other attributes.

A metrics dashboard monitors payment status and preconfigures status reports help enforce best practices. Users can access document management and workflow features directly from their accounting systems.

TALLY PRO

Tally Pro, available in hosted an on-premise packages, utilizes an Office-style look and functionality.

The application handles both client and job/project/costing and offers search tools that can locate specific clients and jobs. It supports time recording and costing for professionals and for commercial operations.

Maxmizer CRM 10 Entrepreneur Edition gives users mobile access via its MaxMobile Live for BlackBerry.
