PROADVISOR PROGRAM AT 50,000
Intuit’s QuickBooks ProAdivsor program has now enrolled more than 50,000 accounting professionals and business consultants since it began in 1997.
The program provides crucial training, software, technical support, and other resources to help tax and accounting practitioners grow their practices and support clients using QuickBooks financial software.
VRAKAS/BLUM BUYS CG BIZ
Vrakas/Blum Computer Consulting has acquired the Wisconsin Sage Software practice of regional accounting firm Clifton Gunderson, the latest in a series of moves by the latter firm realigning its software reselling practice.
Brian Kermicle, principal, and Lisa Pence, CPA and manager, have joined Vrakas as a result of the move. Kermicle is a certified trainer for MAS 90 while Pence is certified in Sage PFW.
TECTURA HIRES EVP
Tectura, Microsoft’s largest Dynamics reseller, has named Kathleen Haley as executive vice president of Tectura Americas.
Previously, she was vice president of worldwide field services at Sendmail, which is involved in email architecture and email systems integration and had been a VP at Business Objects for seven years before that. The position had been vacant since last year’s fourth quarter, according to Terry Petrzleka, Tectura’s CEO.
OPEN SYSTEMS HONORS ABS
Applied Business Services of Gaithersburg, Md., has been named as Open Systems’ top reseller for 2007/2008.
ABS, which sells both Open Systems Accounting Software and Traverse, also peddles Sage Software’s nonprofit software line. The organization, founded by Maureen Williams, had 22 employees and $4.7 million in revenue for 2007. It has won the top reseller spot five times.
TRIBRIDGE TOPS MICROSOFT CHANNEL
Tribridge, a reseller based in Tampa, Fla., has been named the Microsoft Dynamics Outstanding Reseller of the year at the company’s recent Worldwide Partner Conference.
Led by CEO Tony DiBenedetto, Tribridge had $24 million in revenue for 2007. Fullscope was partner of the year for Dynamics AX, Akron, Ohio-based InterDyn Socius took the honor for Dynamics GP and Synergy Business Solutions of Portland, Ore., was top partner for Dynamics SL.
ITA GETS DELTEK INFLUX
Fourteen reselling firms that handle the Deltek software line have joined the user group, the Information Technology Alliance.
The influx follows Deltek’s hiring of Taylor Macdonald, former Sage Software senior vice president, to lead its channel program. Among the new members are InterDyn Progressive Group, Equation Technologies, Strategies Group, Accounting Systems and the Fitzgerald Group. Meanwhile, CPA Robert C. Gaby, a principal of Arxis Technology, has been elected to a three-year term on the ITA board of directors.
LBMC HOSTS TECH EVENT
LBMC Technologies is hosting its annual technology conference at two different cities in Tennessee.
The free event is being held on Aug. 26 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, and on Aug. 27 at the Knoxville Convention Center. The 2008 conference offers information on new products, add-on products and IT services, and features 16 new sessions.
TM GROUP MAKES 19
The TM Group, a Dynamics reseller based in Farmington Hills, Mich., has been named to the Dynamics Presidents Club for the 19th consecutive year, a record unmatched by any other reseller.
The organization sells Dynamics GP, SL and CRM. It had 30 employees and $6.2 million in revenue for 2007. Its officers are Judith Thomas, president, Mark Thomas, vice president and J. Scott Thomas, CEO.
