Deltek has named Cranford, N.J.-based Solutions Strategists, headed by Art Nathan, as its New Partner of the Year as the Herndon, Va.-based company published the list of resellers honored in its second annual awards.
Innovative Solutions Group of Mooresville, N.C., received the overall Deltek Partner of the Year Award with Jewell and Associates of Vienna, Va., and Central Consulting Group of Minneapolis, as finalists. Other award winners were Kennedy Vomberg of Toronto as growth partner. Jewell also received the partner marketing excellence award, along with Aktion Associates of Maumee, Ohio. There were three performance-level award winners: PSTC of Missouri City, Texas; A&E Systems of Bellevue, Wash.; and SilverEdge Systems Software of Schaumburg, Ill.
INTUIT OFFERS BAILOUT
Intuit is offering $100,000 in stimulus grants for accounting and tax firms through its new "Power to Get More Done" program.
Accounting professionals can apply for cash grants of $10,000 each to be awarded to 10 firms. The company is also offering the winners up to $10,000 each in free products and services.
Intuit is also offering help under its Small Business United Program. Its MyCorporation.com is offering free incorporation and LLC services through July 31.
CLIFTON GUNDERSON PARTNER AWARDED
Clifton Gunderson's Mickey Scheffki, partner-in-charge for the firm's technology solutions in Peoria, Ill., received last year the Robert L. Coker, Growth of Our People Award.
Named for one of the firm's founding partners, the award is presented to a partner who displays excellent leadership and vision, and who embraces and implements the firm's mission of Growth of Our People.
TOP DYNAMICS VARS MERGE
Navint Consulting, a reseller based in Lowell, Mass., has merged with Tampa, Fla.-based Tribridge. Although it was called a merger of equals, the combined company will be called Tribridge.
Tribridge had $24 million in revenue in 2007, which placed it at No. 9 on the Accounting Technology Top 100 list for 2008.
Navint Consulting was No. 22 with $14 million. Martin Glavin, Navint's CEO, will become president of Tribridge. "The big thing it does is shore up our Northeast and West Coast operations," said Tribridge CEO Tony DiBenedetto. Tribridge now has offices in New York, Rochester, N.Y., Boston and Los Angeles
RAND GROUP MOVES INTO SOUTHEAST
The Rand Group, a Dynamics reseller based in Houston, Texas, has opened an office in Atlanta under Tori Woskoski, who will head the operations.
The company was No. 38 on the Accounting Technology VAR 100 list for 2008 with $7.3 million. The Rand Group also has offices in Chicago and Austin, Texas.
EHTC SELECTS DIRECTORS
Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., an accounting firm based in Grand Rapids, Mich., has elected CPAs Dennis M. Echelbarger as chair of the board and David G. Echelbarger as president.
Dennis Echelbarger's areas of expertise include business valuations, fraud prevention and litigation support. David Echelbarger is the founder of the EHTC Technology Solutions division. CPA Robin S. Stoner, director of taxation, was re-elected as treasurer.
COMPTON JOINS BCG SYSTEMS
William Compton has joined BCG Systems as practice leader of the reselling organization's southeast region.
BCG, based in Akron, Ohio, said Compton had a management consulting background with a Big Four accounting firm and also had managed numerous Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM implementations.
The firm also has an office in Nashville, Tenn. BCT is an affiliate of the accounting firm, Brockman, Coats, Gedelian & Co.
