CohnReznick grants new wishes with latest Bowl-A-Thon

August 8, 2013

New York-headquartered accounting, tax, and advisory firm CohnReznick recently raised more than $105,000 at its 12th annual Bowl-A-Thon benefiting Make-A-Wish New Jersey, bringing the firm’s total raised for the CohnReznick Foundation-supported charity to more than $1.35 million over the last 12 years.

Raised through employee fundraising, donations and raffles, the donations have helped grant more than 115 wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses through Make-A-Wish New Jersey’s Adopt-A-Wish Program.

This summer, approximately 13 wishes will be granted with the funds raised at this year’s Bowl-A-Thon, held July 16 at Hanover Lanes in East Hanover, N.J.

The partners and staff from CohnReznick’s New Jersey offices who took to the lanes raised donations and sponsorships from friends, family and clients. Additional money was also raised when bowlers, other employees and their families participated in raffles and tricky tray auctions.

Every year at the Bowl-A-Thon, CohnReznick hosts a Wish child and his or her family who has been granted a wish through the donation from the prior year’s event. This year, two Wish families attended and shared their stories.

"We were honored to have two families whose lives have been made brighter by Make-A-Wish join us at this year’s event,” stated Michael L. Cohen, partner, director of the CohnReznick Foundation and a Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey board member. “Knowing that we played a part in helping those families inspires us to continue to support this worthy organization.”

In addition to Make-A-Wish, the CohnReznick Foundation also supported the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation at its 22nd Annual Charity Golf Invitational, donating a total of $150,000 to bring that event’s combined total raised for the two organizations to $1.15 million over the past seven years.
