The Fashion Institute of Technology recently bestowed student Chastity Farrell with the first Friedman LLP Entrepreneurship Scholarship.

Friedman managing partner Bruce Madnick and partner Harriet Greenberg presented Farrell with the scholarship check during a reception at the accounting firm’s New York office, in front of an audience that included Steven Frumkin, dean of FIT’s Jay and Patty Baker School of Business and Technology, and Henry Welt, acting chair of FIT’s Entrepreneurship for the Fashion and Design Industries Department.

The Friedman LLP Entrepreneurship Scholarship will be awarded annually to one FIT student enrolled in the two-year entrepreneurship program, which teaches students how to create business opportunities using creativity and innovation.

"Chastity was selected as the first Friedman scholar because of her passion for fashion and design and her dream of one day leading a successful business," said Harriet Greenberg in a statement. "Our scholarship program is just one of the many ways we are fulfilling our commitment to education, entrepreneurship and the future of the fashion industry."
