In light of the fact that only 40 percent of fourth graders and 35 percent of eighth graders are proficient in math, ParenteBeard created an educational children’s book, “Making the Holidays Count,” in an attempt to show students math can be fun.

The book explores the importance of numbers in holiday activities like baking and decorating.

In late December, the firm held reading events of the book at local chapters of the Boys & Girls Club of America in its six regions.
