This fall, employees of Cleveland-headquartered CPA firm Skoda Minotti contributed to two local nonprofits that won the firm’s community connection initiative. The venture, aimed at assisting organizations throughout Northeast Ohio with financial operations, also offers volunteer help to the two chosen nonprofits.

The first of these projects involved firm employees providing show-night assistance at a VIP event for the Beck Center for the Arts, a Lakewood organization that combines professional theater with arts education. The show was Xanadu, performed for Beck Center’s donors.

For the second project, at the Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeast Ohio in Garfield, firm volunteers spent two Saturdays participating in light landscaping and activities with the children, who come from challenging circumstances and are provided stability, support and scholarship from the organization.

“A core value that we take very serious is our commitment to deliver on the promise to our community,” said Gregory J. Skoda, chairman of Skoda Minotti, in a statement. “We are proud that the majority of our professional staff serves on a nonprofit board or volunteers for at least one organization, with many serving on several.”
