SEC votes to speed up financial disclosures

Washington - The Securities and Exchange Commission has voted unanimously to propose a new rule requiring companies to more quickly file quarterly and annual financial reports.
  The proposed rule would cut the deadline for filing annual reports to 60 days from the current 90 days. And quarterly filings would be due within 30 instead of the current 45 days.
