Gen Y Viewed As Poor Performers

May 19, 2009

Gen Y workers are perceived by recruiters as the weakest performers among the four generations now in the workforce, according to a poll by Internet careers site Jobfox quoted in The Chronicle Herald.

Jobfox CEO Rob McGovern says it’s corporate leaders — not the Gen Y employees — who need attitude adjustments and that businesses must find new ways to incorporate them into the workforce.

"The companies that succeed over the next two decades will be the ones that can most inspire (Gen) Y," McGovern is quoted as saying. "This is the most educated and technologically savvy generation ever."
