Employees at the Dallas firm recently participated in a firm-wide community service project at the Boys & Girls Club in Oak Cliff, Texas.
The UHY crew arrived at the Boys & Girls Club at 12:30 p.m. and was then given a tour of the facility by the organizations volunteer coordinator, Lois Cross. Following the tour, employees hung out with more than 150 kids playing basketball, foosball, pool, Wii and other computer games, as well as, creating arts and crafts.
An ice cream sundae party was next on the agenda and each kid was given a bowl of ice cream and allowed to top off their dessert with sprinkles, M&Ms, chocolate morsels, whipped cream, cherries and chocolate syrup.
The kids loved it, and so did the staff, said Robert Lang, principal with UHY Advisors in Dallas. The event provided an environment for team building and bonding through fun activities, and I think the kids at the Boys & Girls Club touched our lives just as much as we touched theirs.
