Dennis Reigle Receives Beta Alpha Psi President’s Award

The director of academic and career development at the American Institute of CPAs has received the President’s Award from Beta Alpha Psi, an honorary organization for accounting, financial and information systems’ students and professionals.

The award is given to an individual who has had a significant influence on the organization over the course of many years – and this year, Dennis Reigle, was chosen.

Reigle served Beta Alpha Psi as chair and member of its advisory board forum, a body of leaders from industry, professional service firms and government. He was president in 2002 and 2003, at which time he launched an electronic process for Beta Alpha Psi chapters to submit their activity reports twice a year. Previously, they were submitting via paper reports.

Reigle was also influential in the creation of the Accounting Doctoral Scholars program, which seeks to reverse the shortage of Ph.D.s in U.S. colleges and universities by recruiting CPAs to become accounting professors.

“On a personal level, Denny Reigle has served as a mentor to many of us in Beta Alpha Psi,” said Nancy Nichols, Ph.D. the current president. “He is the person I call when I need to figure out how to handle a difficult situation. He always provides insightful and creative advice.”
