Go Ahead, Ask PKF Texas About Their Young Professionals Program

Houston-based PKF Texas is on the edge when it comes to its young professionals – and that’s a good thing. The firm was recently honored with an Edge Award from the Leading Edge Alliance, an international professional association of independently-owned accounting and consulting firms.

The firm earned an Edge Award in the Outstanding Young Professionals Initiative category for working with younger staff’s skills and talents in contributing to practice development.

Since 2006, PKF Texas has contributed a “Cubester Chat” column in Leading Edge Magazine. Topics have included: networking, why choose a middle market firm?; transitioning from staff level to manager; and what the economy means to this generation.

“It is an honor to receive such recognition from our peers within the Leading Edge Alliance,” said Kenneth Guidry, CPA, and president of PKF Texas. “Leadership recognizes that our younger team members are the future of our firm. We would be remiss if we did not take the steps necessary to ensure we develop our young professionals early in their careers. Our young professionals initiatives are strategically positioned within our broader succession plan.”

The Edge Awards were recently given out at a luncheon during the annual Leading Edge Alliance Conference in Miami, Fla.
