Weaver and Tidwell Private Foundation Donates to Texas Food Bank Network

IMGCAP(1)] The Texas Food Bank Network has been named as the Weaver and Tidwell’s Private Foundation “Charity of Choice” and as a result has received a donation of $50,000 and the time of the firm’s community.

The Network, which is an association of 19 food banks and one food rescue organization in Texas, includes the North Texas Food Bank, Tarrant Area Food Bank, Houston Food Bank, San Antonio Food Bank and Capital Area Food Bank.

Aside from the donation, employees of Weaver will have opportunities to volunteer at the food banks in their communities. This month, staff has already coordinated food drives in each Weaver office in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Austin. Next month, employees and their families will help sort, inspect and repackage food for distribution to hunger-fighting charities.

“We are pleased to be able to support area food banks in the communities where Weaver does business,” said Tommy Lawler, the firm’s managing partner and chief executive. “When our staff participates in hands-on activities, this allows them to see how the Foundation’s financial donations help their community.”
