New Jersey high school and college accounting students just got a boost from the Monmouth/Ocean Chapter of the New Jersey Society of CPAs, as a $50,000 donation has been added to the Societys Scholarship Fund.
A check was presented to NJSCPA Scholarship Fund President Robert DeFilippis at the Chapters taxation seminar on Jan. 9. The mission of the fund is to attract the best and brightest New Jersey students into the accounting profession, to encourage students from diverse fields to pursue an advanced education in accountancy, and to increase awareness about the opportunities provided by a CPA career path.
The Societys Scholarship fund, which is largest professional scholarship program in New Jersey, has awarded more than $420,000 in scholarships. Since its inception in the 1960s, the Fund has supported more than 1,400 New Jersey students.
