Wyclef Jean Hires RSM McGladrey

Yele Haiti, the non-profit organization formed by musician and rapper Wyclef Jean has hired RSM Gladrey to help set up a new bank account for its Haitian earthquake fund.

According to CNNMoney.com, the announcement came days after Jean tearfully denied allegations that he misappropriated funds from his charity. The allegations, according to staff writer Aaron Smith, stemmed from payments by Yele Haiti toward businesses owned by Jean and another board member – including a production company and recording studio.

The non-profit also didn’t file taxes for three years.

The non-profit, however, will still use Grant Thornton to assist with its taxes.
No word on whether either firm will receive free Wyclef Jean and The Fugees CDs.
