Crowe Horwarth Make $109,000 Donation to Haiti

Employees at Oak Brook, Illinois-based Crowe Horwath have been busy organizing a firm matched fundraising effort for Haiti relief.

Following the earthquake, Crowe launched a plan to collect donations from personnel who wanted to assist with the relief program and chose UNICEF and the American Red Cross as the beneficiary organizations. The firm committed to match those donations up to $50,000.

More than 400 individuals at the firm donated $59,285 for disaster relief efforts. In all, 24 percent ($13,764) of the donations received from Crowe individuals was earmarked for UNICEF and 76 percent was assigned to the American Red Cross. The $50,000 in matching funds will be directed in the same proportion, resulting in overall donations of $82,482 to the American Red Cross and $25, 611 to UNICEF for use for earthquake disaster relief efforts.

“Crowe established this matching fund so that contributions from our people can go even further in assisting those in direct need in the aftermath of this tragedy,” said Charles Allen, the firm’s chief executive.
