Andrew Lee, a CPA in Vancouver, Wash. who passed all four sections of the exam on his first attempt, launched
Preparing for the exam can be very overwhelming - knowing the requirements to become a CPA, who to contact to become eligible to sit for the exam, and especially studying for the actual exam, Lee told Accounting Tomorrow. I looked around and did not see any sites that (in my opinion) did a good job of helping aspiring CPAs with the process. So I saw this as an unmet need that could have lots of value.
Lees site offers three components a storefront with CPA review courses from five different publishers, an articles page with advice for CPA exam applicants written by Lee and two publishers, and a forum for CPA exam applicants to ask and answer questions.
I want them [applicants] to be able to get feedback from others about the exam in the forum, a support group if you will, he said. On my end, I will answer forum questions when possible, but my main focus will be to produce quality articles with tips that will help people pass the exam.
