If you are an American Institute of CPAs student affiliate member and enrolled as a full-time undergrad or graduate student, you still have time to submit your application for a tuition scholarship.

The AICPA and Accountemps, a temporary staffing service for accounting, finance and bookkeeping professionals, are still accepting applications for its 2010-2011 AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship. Five individuals will receive $2,500 each for tuition expenses.

But you’ll have to hurry, the deadline is coming right up on April 1 – and yes, you’ll need to have your official school transcripts, an essay discussing your academic and professional goals and two letters of recommendation all there postmarked by that date.

Aside from being AICPA student affiliate members majoring in accounting, finance or information systems, students need to have completed the equivalent of at least 30 semester hours of college coursework, including a minimum of six semester hours in accounting – and maintained a 3.0 major and overall grade point average.

A committee comprised of Accountemps and AICPA representatives will select the scholarship recipients based on outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and future career interests in accounting and business. Recipients of the scholarships will be notified by Aug. 1, 2010.

Applications can be obtained by visiting www.aicpa.org/aec or www.accountemps.com/AICPA.
