New firm wants to bring young accountants & lawyers together

June 3, 2010

Uh oh. Is this a party you’d want to crash? We’re not sure, but there’s a new consulting firm that is aiming to jumpstart the relationships between senior level accountants and attorneys.

The purpose of Professional Peers Connect is to “facilitate, foster and incubate new and strategic business development relationships among senior level professionals by assisting them in finding common ground.”

This assistance is not free, of course.

According to their website, each firm participates in the program for a six month period, during which six professionals are activity engaged in various meetings. The fee for this period is based on the number of participants.

“We glean very focused profiles from lawyers and accountants,” said Barbara Frankel, a founding partner of the firm. “This is at the core of matching professionals with their peers at complementary firms.”

The firm also guarantees a “safe and controlled networking environment” where accountants and attorneys are free to talk about the challenges of their roles – at either a breakfast, lunch or dinner meeting in a neutral setting.

Topics to be discussed include: making the transition from associate to partner; how to develop business; dealing with difficult clients; the current business environment; and learning to manage people.
