Bonadio CEO donates to veteran care program

Thomas Bonadio, CEO and managing partner of New York Top 100 firm The Bonadio Group, recently presented a $25,000 check to CDS Monarch in Webster to benefit the nonprofit organization’s Warrior Salute program.

The program helps veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), transition back into the civilian community through services and training that enable growth and development.

“I was recently introduced to the Warrior Salute service of CDS Monarch and immediately knew that this was an organization I wanted to support,” Bonadio stated. “Warrior Salute is a way for our community to care for the veterans who have selflessly protected our country. I believe that programs like Warrior Salute will make a difference in the transition our troops face.”

Warrior Salute staff help veterans and their families by providing comprehensive, individualized clinical services. These include individual and group mental health counseling, alternative therapies, independent living skills training, vocational rehabilitation, case management, and temporary housing as needed. Administered locally, the program is open to all U.S. veterans through an application process via self-referral or agency and partner referral with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or hospitals.

"We are extremely grateful to Mr. Bonadio for his gift to The Wolf Foundation in support of the veterans we serve through Warrior Salute,” said Sankar Sewnauth, president and CEO of CDS Monarch, in a statement. “CDS Monarch relies on the support of leaders such as Mr. Bonadio to ensure that we are able to continue providing the services that our brave men and women need, and deserve, when they return home from military service."

Warrior Salute celebrated its most recent graduate, U.S. Air Force Security Forces officer Tyler Fisk, this December, who began receiving program services in July. After receiving care through individualized therapies and programs such as animal-assisted and art therapies and community volunteer events, Fisk graduated and joined CDS Monarch as a mechanical assistant with Unistel services, with a long-term goal of transitioning into his own apartment with full-time employment in the Rochester area.

“After receiving treatment through other veteran programs, I found Warrior Salute to be the best fit for my needs,” stated Fisk. “The program environment is a small community of individuals who motivate you to succeed on a daily basis. It has been a unique and beneficial program that has helped me transition into this new phase of my life.”
