Chicago accounting director elected to NCCS Board

Scott Stringer, director of forensic and litigation services at Chicago accounting firm Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, has been elected to the National Children’s Cancer Society Board of Directors.

The NCCS helps with the financial burden of childhood cancer and gives support to parents and children by addressing the challenges of survivorship through its “Beyond the Cure” program. The organization also distributes donated pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to facilities that treat childhood cancer around the world.

“The NCCS provides emotional and financial support to families during a child’s cancer treatment, which allows the family to stay focused on the health and well-being of their child,” stated Scott Stringer.  “I am pleased to be part of an organization like the NCCS because it has a positive effect on these children and their families.”

Previously a board member from 1993-2004 and chairman of the board from 2001-03, Stringer was asked to form and chair the NCCS’s audit committee in 2004 after retiring from the board. Since then, he has served as the outside chairman of the audit committee.

“Scott brings key skills and valuable perspectives to our organization,” stated Mark Stolze, NCCS president and Chief Executive Officer.  “We are fortunate to have such a talented individual serving on our Board and helping us fulfill our mission.”
