Ernst & Young will be holding its annual conference next week to attract more young people to the tax profession.
The beleaguered firm, which was recently sued by New York Attorney General and Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo for its audits of Lehman Brothers, could certainly use some fresh talent and perspectives. The Discover Tax Diversity Leadership Conference, taking place January 5-7 in New York City, aims to attract more young people from minority backgrounds to tax careers at Ernst & Young.
The expense-paid three-day conference is open to “underrepresented” minority sophomores and juniors who are accounting majors or intended majors in a college or university. They also have to have a 3.3 GPA or higher. For attending the conference, they will be eligible to be interviewed for internships with the firm.
Unfortunately, the deadline for applying for attending next week’s conference has already passed, but E&Y is sure to hold the event next year, unless it goes the way of Arthur Andersen. For more information, visit
