Hunter Group CPA Pays it Forward

Bergen County CPA firm Hunter Group CPA participated in the New Jersey Society of CPAs’ Pay it Forward presentation exposing high school students to the accounting profession.

The presentation, part of NJSCPA’s statewide Pay it Forward campaign, included videos on the rewarding aspects of a CPA career, fun facts and an overview of career choices available after graduation.

This fall, more than 160 CPAs visited classrooms and discussed their accounting careers with nearly 10,000 high school students.

Hunter Group’s co-managing director Frank Pawlowski, supervisor Christopher Martin, and David Rounds Jr. presented at Mahwah and Don Bosco Prep high schools.

“It was a wonderful presentation that students responded well to,” stated Pawlowski. “It was refreshing to see students in high school so interested in accounting.”

The NJSCPA also operates New Jersey’s largest professional scholarship fund, awarding more than $425,000 in scholarships to 74 high school and college students to support their accounting studies in 2013.
