Alabama firm paints the town red to fight cancer

Employees of Tuscaloosa, Ala.-based accounting firm JamisonMoneyFarmer will be showing their support for Children’s Hospital Thursday afternoon by displaying red bows purchased for Paint the Town Red for Fuller.

The initiative demonstrates support for Fuller Goldsmith, an 8-year-old child from Tuscaloosa diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at the age of 3, along with other children fighting cancer.

Alabama participants will be placing a red bow on their door, mailbox, lamppost or other location, with proceeds going to Children’s Hospital.

The cause is close to the firm, as Scott Goldsmith, Fuller’s father, is a JMF shareholder. JMF staff put red bows in every tree of the firm’s parking lot.

"I was excited about the response from our staff for Fuller's bows," said Stacie Kirkland, JMF employee and organizer of the event, in a statement. "We have purchased 205 bows and plan to paint the parking lot at the office red with bows tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. That is $2,050 to Children's Hospital from our staff alone. We hope many others will join us throughout the state."

Bows are available for purchase for a minimum (tax-deductible) donation of $10 to Children’s Hospital until Feb. 14. Contact Bow Regards at 1520 McFarland Blvd., N, Suite A, Tuscaloosa, AL  35406 or call Jennifer Hamner at 205-344-4446.
