Join the movement: It’s time for the rise of the new firm

[IMGCAP(1)]I’m sick of PowerPoint. I’m tired of long, one-way speeches. I certainly don’t want to be the sage on the stage. I want to learn from my peers. I want to put the Socratic method to work—a form of inquiry and debate that stimulates critical thinking and knowledge sharing.

It’s a whole new world in the profession. Times are changing fast and it can be difficult to keep up with everything—unless we take advantage of the very rich brain trust that makes up the profession…our very community.

Here’s a thought. What if we all met up in a room full of experienced professionals—ourselves! I’m talking about partners, managers, senior staff and associates; everyone on equal ground. We imagine the possibilities. We dream and discuss. We collaborate. We go outside the traditional CPA firm model to create something new: the New Firm.

Do you have an idea? Do you have the guts?

If you do, join Jason M. Blumer and myself at the Sage Summit…and leave your navy suit and tie at the door. During our Sunday morning session, listen to us evangelize about the cloud, value pricing, culture and social media. This is a facilitated peer discussion workshop with absolutely no sign of a PowerPoint presentation.
