MJLM mails holiday support to troops overseas

Staff from the Houston, Tex., office of accounting and business advisory firm McConnell Jones Lanier & Murphy recently showed their appreciation for soldiers overseas by sending messages through the Holiday Mail for Heroes initiative.

Managed by the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes, which work together to collect and distribute the holiday cards, Holiday Mail for Heroes gives Americans the opportunity to send holiday messages to members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families.

“As a United States Army veteran, and someone who employees many retired soldiers, I feel it’s our social responsibility to support our troops overseas,” said Ira Wayne McConnell, McConnell Jones Lanier & Murphy managing partner, in a statement.

The firm’s engineering and technical services affiliate in Huntsville, Ala., has a staff that includes military veterans who work closely with the U.S. Department of Defense to provide integrated logistics support and program management services.
