Quipu Applications announces student business competition

Cloud-computing company Quipu Applications will award $30,000 in seed financing to the student with the best start-up business plan through its competition, Boot Strap America - Starting up America One Business Plan at a Time.

Students enrolled in U.S.-based two and four-year colleges will be eligible to create, manage and submit their plan using Quipu’s cloud-based BusinessPlan tool before the Nov. 4 submission deadline.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges with expertise in the fields of business, venture capital and law based on creativity, originality, conception, marketing, competitive analysis, and potential financial forecast.

In addition to the $30,000 awarded for first place, the student placing second will receive $20,000 and the third-place winner, $15,000. Five students will also receive honorable mentions and continued free access to Quipu social Dashboard and BusinessPlan.

More information about the competition can be found here. Winners will be announced in January 2012.
