AICPA to hold Women's Global Leadership Summit in D.C.

With the goal of expanding the role of influential women in the CPA profession, the AICPA will hold the Women's Global Leadership Summit in Washington D.C. from Oct. 23-24.

The event, held at the Mandarin Oriental (with a live online broadcast of major sessions also available) will serve as a development and networking event for women leaders in finance and accounting, with 20 different conference sessions, including:

  • Keynote speeches from Katty Kay, BBC World News America anchor and co-author of ‘Womenomics and the Confidence Code,’ and Susan Packard, co-founder and former CEO of HGTV and author of ‘New Rules of the Game: 10 Strategies for Women in the Workplace.’
  • Advice from trailblazers on a panel featuring Leslie Seidman, the first woman chair of the Financial Accounting Standards Board; Theresa M. Grafenstine, first woman inspector general in the U.S. House of Representatives; Sheila Fraser, first woman auditor general of Canada, and Olivia Kirtley, the first woman chair of the AICPA and first woman deputy president of the International Federation of Accountants.
  • Detailed sessions on networking, mentoring and leadership development keyed to CPA firms, business and industry, and not-for-profit and governmental agencies.
