BerryDunn awards 2014 UNH scholarship

New England CPA and consulting firm BerryDunn announced that Marcus Chase of Pittsburg, N.H., has been awarded the 2014 BerryDunn Scholarship at the University of New Hampshire.

Chase, the second recipient of this annual scholarship, is a business administration honors student working toward a CPA certification and interested in pursuing a career within assurance services.

The BerryDunn MSA Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to graduate students enrolled in the master of science in accounting program in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics at UNH.

“At BerryDunn, we value the opportunity to support stellar accounting students through our internships, outreach, and now this scholarship,” stated Mike Jurnak, principal-in-charge of BerryDunn's Manchester office. “It’s an investment in the students and in the future health of our profession. We’re proud to recognize an outstanding student’s commitment to the profession each year.”

The only firm-sponsored scholarship in the history of the MSA program, the merit-based scholarship of $3,000 is awarded every year to one MSA student who resides in New Hampshire or Maine.

“Many talented students would not be able to attend the program and pursue the career without financial support,” stated the director of the MSA program, Dr. Le (Emily) Xu. “The faculty and students are very appreciative of the BerryDunn Scholarship.”
