Tennessee tax partner receives United Way award

Cindy Harper, tax partner in Tennessee accounting firm Black Morgan & Cain’s Nashville office and wealth management practice leader, was honored with the Bill King Award by the United Way of Williamson County.

Named for the United Way’s long-time partner William B. King, the award recognizes a person or people who demonstrate a commitment to the organization.

Harper currently serves as treasurer on the Williamson County Long Term Recovery Committee, which has assisted victims of the May 2010 flood. She is also a recently elected board member of the Patricia Hart Society and has served on the United Way’s board as chair, campaign chair and emeritus board member.

“Volunteers play a significant role in the work of United Way and we have seen Cindy rally our troops here at LBMC and get behind over 13 years of successful campaigns,” said Mike Cain, co-founder and co-managing partner of LBMC, in a statement. “She provides tireless and unwavering support and commitment to help to make our community a better place for everyone.”

Debby Rainey, who serves with Harper on the Long Term Recovery Committee and the Patricia Hart Society stated, “Miracles can be worked by anyone in a customer-driven business but it is the attitude with which you perform the miracle that makes an impression on your customer. Cindy performs the miracles and makes you feel like you have done her the greatest favor by allowing her to do so.”
