Citrin Cooperman donates to Diamonds and Denim fundraiser

Philadelphia-based accounting, tax and business consulting firm Citrin Cooperman participated in The Hamels Foundation’s fourth annual Diamonds and Denim event Aug. 15 to help fund the nonprofit organization’s community-based education assistance.

Among the guests of Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife Heidi, who founded the foundation to support high-quality education in the U.S. and Malawi, were Lifehouse band members, reality stars from The Bachelor and Bachelorette, the Philadelphia Phillies Ballgirls and teammates from the Phillies including Chase Utley, Jonathan Papelbon, Kyle Kendrick, John Mayberry, Jr. and Jimmy Rollins.

Also present, from Citrin Cooperman, were partners Kevin Ryan and Alan Mandeloff and Philadelphia managing partner Mark Carrow, who presented the firm’s donation of a seven-day vacation to a resort in Costa Rica that sold for more than $10,000.

“It is an honor to participate in an event that has such a positive impact on education in our area and abroad,” said Carrow in a statement. “Citrin Cooperman has a number of accountants who serve on the boards of educational institutions and we work with many charter schools in and around Philadelphia and surrounding states. This was a great way to celebrate education, have fun and make a difference in our community.”
