Cohen & Co. strikes it big for Junior Achievement

Cleveland-based Cohen & Company/Cohen Fund Audit Services entered two teams in the annual Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon March 2, raising an all-time high of $3,400 for the firm’s years of participation.

The Junior Achievement contribution included donations raised by bowlers that day at Superior Lanes in downtown Cleveland and the firm’s participation in a $5 jeans day.

All proceeds from the bowl-a-thon, Junior Achievement’s largest fundraiser, go to the organization’s work providing entrepreneurship, financial literacy and career readiness programs to schools and students in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain counties.

“Thanks to the dedication shown by our firm, we surpassed our fundraising goal and almost doubled the amount we raised last year to support Junior Achievement,” said Julie Lowry, a senior manager for Cohen Fund Audit Services and coordinator of the firm’s teams, in a statement. “Everyone’s involvement has been absolutely tremendous this year and is a testament to our commitment to the community. We also have a lot of fun competing with each other at the event.”

The firm’s bowlers were Chris Bellamy, Brett Eichenberger, Alex Hocking, Kevin Kray, Lauren Lippert, Julie Lowry, Mike Maimone, Josh Morris, John Rodriguez and Rob Velotta.
